Synology.
Your data has to live somewhere.

You bring the data. Training sets, checkpoints, models and results add up fast, and losing them costs more than the hardware that made them. Synology makes the storage that keeps it all in one place, protected and quick to reach.

About Synology

Storage that looks after itself.

Synology makes network attached storage: a box of drives on your network that everyone on the team, and every machine doing the work, can read from and write to. Its systems run Synology's own operating system, DSM, which handles sharing, backup and protection without extra software.

For AI work that matters in three ways. Datasets stop living on one person's workstation. Long training runs can save checkpoints somewhere safe. And when a drive fails, as drives do, the work is still there.

We supply Synology's rack-mount range, which suits a server room or a small rack beside your GPU hardware.

Synology on AI

How Synology describes storage for AI.

01

Across the data pipeline

Storage for each stage of AI work: collecting data from many sources, centralising it, processing it at speed, and keeping it for the long term.

02

Fast access for GPU work

High-throughput, low-latency storage so that training, fine-tuning and inference are not held up waiting on data.

03

Built-in data protection

Replication, backup, immutable copies and ransomware protection, so one failure does not cost you a dataset.

04

Edge, core and cloud

Options from a single site through to multi-site and hybrid cloud, with central monitoring of the systems you run.

Good fit if you are
→Outgrowing the drive in your workstation
→Sharing datasets across a team
→Running long training jobs you can't afford to lose
→Needing backups that happen without anyone remembering
Worth knowing before you buy
01Drives are bought separately. Budget for them alongside the unit.
02More bays means more room to grow later.
03A redundant power supply keeps storage running if one supply fails.
04Pair storage with a UPS so a power cut doesn't interrupt a write.
